SUMMARY:

This project will provide clean and safe water by drilling boreholes in Karamoja Sub-Region which comprises seven districts; Abim, Kaabong, Kotido, Moroto, Nakapiripirit, Nabilatuk, and Amudat. Approximately 60% of people in karamoja lack access to safe drinking water. This limited access contributes to various health issues, including waterborne diseases. The initiative aims to:

  1. • Increase access to safe water: By drilling boreholes, communities in karamoja can access clean and safe water, reducing reliance on contaminated water sources.
  2. • Improve health outcomes: Access to safe water can significantly reduce waterborne diseases, improving overall health and well-being.
  3. • Enhance livelihoods: Reliable access to clean water can support livelihoods, enabling communities to focus on agriculture, livestock, and other economic activities. The drilling of boreholes in karamoja sub-region can benefit thousands of people, providing a sustainable source of clean water and contributing to the region's development.
